SPIES AND HJC HELMET TEAM UP IN WORLD SUPERBIKE
DALLAS (Jan. 6, 2009) – Three-time AMA Superbike Champion Ben Spies will wear HJC Helmets as he makes the move to the World Superbike Championship with Yamaha in 2009.
Spies will sport the wind-tunnel tested HJC FS-15, a model the AMA champ has helped develop since the beginning of the 2008. The FS-15 features state-of-the-art in helmet technology including an advanced fiberglass composite shell, optically superior Pinlock®-prepared faceshield, the RapidFire™ shield replacement system, “ACS” advanced channeling ventilation system and SilverCool™ interior.
“I’ve been impressed with the HJC helmets,” Spies said. “It’s important when you’re reaching speeds close to 200 miles per hour that you have a helmet that is stable and gives you great vision. HJC’s ventilation system also helps keep me cool during those 90 degree days we have so often in the middle of the summer. HJC inspires a lot of confidence. I don’t have to worry about my helmet and that allows me to focus on riding.”
Since 1971, HJC has specialized in manufacturing motorcycle helmets exclusively. The combination of this extensive specialized manufacturing experience, innovative ideas, and reasonable pricing resulted in HJC’s success in worldwide markets. It is HJC’s continual goal to provide high quality, comfortable, and reasonably priced helmets to motorcyclists throughout the world.
As a direct result of this mission, since 1992, HJC has succeeded in maintaining the status as the #1 helmet brand in North America.
“Working with Ben has been great for HJC,” said Chuck, HJC racing coordinator, “His feedback has helped us develop what we feel is the best road racing helmet we’ve made to date. Being associated with a champion like Ben is something we’re very proud of and we look forward to working with him as he makes the move to World Superbike.”
The FS-15 Elbowz II (Ben Spies replica) is available at motorcycle dealers across the country. More details can be found at
